Sounds like Spizella call notes. Not sure which one you would most likely have at your location, Chipping or Clay-colored...

Almost 100% sure that's a Swainson's Thrush. I just started having the first ones flying over my place a couple of days ago.

Okay I maybe didn’t find the bird I heard in this recording then
The swth call note is an extremely familiar sound to me and there was a nearby one at the time

Still can’t turn this into Swainson’s in my head
The rough sound is not distortion at least if it is the bird I heard

The bird I heard called once from behind where a Swainson’s thrush was and sounded almost flycatcher like to me
People are saying this is a typical swth call note so maybe not the bird I heard in the field but doesn’t sound like swth to me
