Waved Albatross off Piedras Blancas, CA. Probably the same bird from Bodega Bay last October.

Photo analysis has shown that this is 100% the same bird as the Bodega Bay bird. It's molting the same secondaries/primaries.

Eurasian Sparrowhawk and Asian Rosy-Finch on Adak. Before he retired, my brother had a job that sent him to Adak occasionally.

A link to an article today in The Guardian about this vagrant.

https://www.theguardian.com/environment ... g-bird-aoe

The Robin is almost certainly the most popular bird in the UK, often appearing on Christmas cards and even has its own song (When the red, red Robin comes...) dating from 1926 with many covers including Al Jolson. They are cute and quite comfortable around people.

Just a little bit outside of the ABA area, but it's worth noting that there is a Taiga Flycatcher in Baja California Sur right now. Only the third North American record away from far Western Alaska.

Not on the Alert list, I guess because it doesn't have a rarity code yet.

I'm not sure if I know Dragon49, but I do see a Mark at Wakodahatchee Wetlands. I noticed a lot of his posts on the old forum were places I visit. Next time I see him, I'll ask if it's him.

I shot the Bananaquit a couple of years ago in Boca Raton FL.

Mark Penkower is his name. If your Mark is him, feel free to let him know we're here.

Amur Stonechat (not recognized as a separate species from Siberian Stonechat by ABA/AOS) on St Paul Island.

https://ebird.org/checklist/S354378059

Siberian Stonechat is still needed for the Collaborative Photo List, just in case anybody happens to be in the Pribilofs.

I saw the Texas one a couple years back, but it looks like I forgot to add it to the photo list. I'll add it in a couple days once I have access to a computer.

On the topic of ABA rarities, there also have been not one, but TWO Eurasian Whimbrels in Northwestern California in the past week. Only California's 6th and 7th records. Of particular interest is the fact that one of those birds was actually banded.

Also of interest here is that Jon Dunn said this species will be getting split in the upcoming update to the AOS list.
