What does "rating" mean?

Happy to find this forum after the demise of WhatBird!!
I'm just getting familiar with it. I've noticed a "Rating" of 10 stars at the bottom of each post. Is that the rating for the post or the user? How are those numbers determined?
Thanks!

The rating is related to number of 'Thanks' each post gets. There is no option for 'Likes' on this forum but the 'Thanks' button, the thumbs up icon, shows up as star ratings similar to the 'Likes' button of the old forum.

I see! Ok, thanks! And I clicked to the thumbs up/thanks button on your response to make it official.

Specifically, the "Rating" percentage is based on the maximum number of "Thanks" (as Lonestranger explained it) that any post in the history of the board has received. If the most "Thanks" any post has received is 10, and your post gets 2 "Thanks", your post will show a "Rating" of 20%.
Only if your post is the highest thanked ever, or tied for it, will your post show a 100% Rating.
