Terrible Photos

Thought this might be a fun game for us to play. Whoever guesses the species depicted correctly posts the next photo, or defers to another player. Please only guess again after two others have guessed, feedback by poster has been given, or once a day has gone by. Whoever has posted a photo should give feedback at least daily, including hints if they’d like (more specific location, habitat, size of bird, etc). Posted photos must include a date and location (state/territory level and month at minimum). Photos should be at least recognizable as a bird, at least to birders who’ve taken plenty of “blob” photos 😉. Of course, please refrain from cheating by checking eBird libraries. Rarities welcome, but not necessary. I’ll start.

Look like maybe Longspurs of some type? Going by location and the extant of the white I see in the rectrices I'd probably go Smith's Longspur.

Good eye! These were first county records that continued for a little over a month alongside a 5th state record Chestnut-collared last winter.
