My first hummingbird of the year

Post by MtnAg08 »

Thanks for all yalls help over the last few weeks. I feel like I'm learning a lot in a short time. Was able to catch a shot of my first hummingbird this morning (Avon, CO). I've tried using photo IDes online and have gotten 3 different possible responses: Anna's, Broad-Tailed and Allen's (which never come close to Colorado). Hoping some of yall might know and provide some pointers on things to look for on hummingbirds.

Anna's doesn't have the rusty wash on the flanks. That leaves Rufous or Broad-tailed, usually a tough call.
