Help with a hawk

Need help identifying a bird? Please post your question here and if possible include a photo. Also let us know where and when you saw the bird. Other things that help are listing any field marks that stood out, behavioral information like how it walked, hopped or flew. This Forum is just for North American birds.

Help with a hawk

I saw this bird a few weeks back at the Orange Reservoir in Essex County, NJ. I think Coopers, but any help would be greatly appreciated.

I’d lean cooper’s as well

Do you have any other shots, especially of the head at a different angle?

Unfortunately not, it flew away and I couldn't get the camera back on it
