Shorebird in SW Montana

Need help identifying a bird? Please post your question here and if possible include a photo. Also let us know where and when you saw the bird. Other things that help are listing any field marks that stood out, behavioral information like how it walked, hopped or flew. This Forum is just for North American birds.

Shorebird in SW Montana

This photo was taken today in SW Montana. Shore birds are tough for me, and originally I was thinking this was a Semipalmated Sandpiper, but after looking at more photos I'm wondering now if it might be a Bairds. The wing feathers look to extend past the tail feathers. Any input would be greatly appreciated!

I’d lean Bairds

Agreed. Both birds seem like typical Baird's to me.
